Ambulance Service Merger

The Staffordshire Ambulance Service Board met and agreed that the merger with West Midlands Ambulance Service should take effect from 1st October 2007, a decision supported by Ambulance Service road staff.

Since its formation, the group has attended 264 jobs up to the end of January, this makes an average of just under 40 jobs per month.

New Responder Vehicle

Following very successful trials with the loan vehicle, a Honda CR-V has been ordered. It proved more than capable for the intended response area. Compact enough to keep purchase and running costs down, yet spacious enough for the required emergency equipment. Being 2 wheel drive, with an automatic 4 wheel drive should the conditions require it, the vehicle should be economic to run.

How We Operate

Dove Valley CFR, as with other CFR schemes in Staffordshire, operates as an integral part of Staffordshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust. It is made up of volunteers who work to support their local community, providing a First Response to medical emergencies.

On calling 999 for an Ambulance, Dove Valley CFR is just one of a number of resources that could be deployed to help.
